Sacred Heart Convent 127th Anniversary

 

 Sacred Heart Convent celebrated her 127^th Anniversary on 24^th November 2023 in the School Centenary Hall. The Chief Guest of this graceful occasion was Rev. Fr. Charles Hewawasam, Vicar General of Galle Diocese. Also, this momentous event was graced by the respected presence of the Mother Superior of Sacred Heart Convent, Rev. Sr. Angela Fernando and some other distinguished guests.

 The Thanksgiving Eucharistic Celebration in line with the Anniversary of the school was held on the same day at the Chapel of Sacred Heart Convent. The Chief Celebrant of this Eucharistic Celebration was Rev. Fr. Sampath Wilegoda, Rector of Minor Seminary, with Rev. Fr. Nihal Nanayakkara, Former Vicar General of Galle Diocese and Rev. Fr. Lakshman Peiris, Superior of Jesuit Community, Galle attending as concelebrants.

The opening of the ground floor including the New Science Laboratory and the Home Science Unit of the new building was also held on the same day and it was ceremonially opened by the Bishop of Galle Diocese, Rt. Rev. Dr. Raymond Wickramasinghe.

 Moreover, Rev. Fr. Charles Hewawasam, Vicar General of Galle Diocese, Rev. Fr. Nihal Nanayakkara, Former Vicar General and some other Reverand Fathers and the Mother Superior of Sacred Heart Convent, other Reverand Sisters, Our Dear Principal, Deputy Principals and the staff were also present at this solemn occasion.
