Sacred Heart Convent held the “Prefect Investiture Ceremony – 2021” on 1st of April 2021 from 9.00 am onwards at the Centenary Hall. The pinning of the shiny badges took place with the presence of principal Rev.Sr .Sandya Fernando and the Chief Guest Dr. Nishara Mendis, Senior Lecture – Faculty of Law – University of Colombo.
The brand new senior prefectorial body comprising the finest young leaders within the school were bestowed with the cardinal responsibility of protecting and maintaining the standards and decorum of the school.
The outgoing Head Prefect W.P.D.Nethmi Sathsarani handed over the duties and responsibilities to the Head Girl elect for 2021 Sithmini Devindi Sirithunga. F. Ashrath Rumie and Sehansa D.De Costa succeeded in becoming the Deputy Head Girls of SHC. The position of Games Captain and Vice Games Captain for 2021 were entrusted with K.G. Senethi Siyara and Andria Romali Winslow respectively.
The newly elected Student Council took oath of office to commit and act towards the betterment of SHC.
Sacred Heart Convent had the grade 1 admission for the year 2021 and the Little Heartians were welcomed at the Centenary Hall. The new Heartians and the parents were addressed by the principal Rev.Sr. Sandya Fernando. The Additional Provincial Director of Education, Ms. Sandamali K. Gamage graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
Coinciding this event was the distribution of saplings among parents of new admitted children.

Sacred Heart Convent – undoubtedly the most sought after school in the Southern Province marked its quasquicentennial year in 2021. It was quite heartening to see Heartians around the country gather around the most sacred and closest place to their hearts to mark the 125th year of their beloved Alma Marter.
A commemorative school calendar was launched to mark this special milestone in the school history at an event held at the Centenary Hall of Sacred Heart Convent on 29th January. The former deputy principal Ms. Elizabeth Senanayake graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
The Thai Pongal was celebrated on the 15th of January on a simple scale with the participation of the principal Rev.Sr.Sandya Fernando,other Rev. Sisters , teachers and students.
A memorial program was organised on 11th of January 2021 to mark the Death Anniversary of Rev. Sr. Rosina Nanayakkara in the school premises with the reopening of the school for the first term. The principal Rev. Sr. Sandya Fernando, other Rev. sisters, all the teachers and students paid tribute to the late principal and remembered her by lighting up lamps. We will always remember her as a great sense of inspiration for future achievements.
SHC celebrated her 124th Anniversary on 24th of November 2020 at the Centenary Hall with the participation of the principal Rev. Sr. Sandya Fernando as the Chief Guest. It started in the usual Catholic tradition with a Holy Mass conducted at the school Cathedral by Rt. Rev. Dr. Raymond Wickramasinghe, the Bishop of Galle Diocese.

The children’s Day Celebration was held on the fifth of October, 2020 at the Centenary Hall. The Chief Guest of the event was the principal Rev. Sr. Sandya Fernando. The lineup of events included many entertainment programs by the teachers and some inspirational speeches. The day was a reminder that every child deserved education, nurturing and the best of everything.
