The prevailing social problems of modern society need awareness and publicity to find proper solutions to them. This requires the active participation of various groups in the society. Sacred Heart Convent started the Drug Prevention Club in 1992 as a response to this prevailing situation.
Mrs. Hemalatha Ponnamperuma was the teacher in charge then. Mrs. Indra Piyaseeli guided the students since 2001, and the members of the club got the admonition by Mrs. Ishanthi Jayawardena and her guidance is a great strength to the members. Mrs. Dammika Wijayarathne joined the Drug Prevention Club in 2009.
